Villager Books
Who We Are
Our book club is distinguished by its format: read what you wish, and then share it with the rest of the members. Founded three years ago by Sharon and Bob Cottor, our 20 members meet monthly, each with their book reviews. All the reviews are then collected by member Claudia Christensen and distributed to all members. Even with nothing to report, all are welcomed.
Why We Read
“I especially like historical fiction and biographies, but also like stories that increase my knowledge of a subject. I find the author’s thought process interesting, especially if it is creative.” – Ilean Finkel.
“Each work of fiction, while I read, becomes a brain activity creating a movie behind my eyeballs!” – Chuck Herring.
“By reading books one can go anywhere and be anything.” – Sharon Cottor.
“I enjoy this book club format of each person reporting on one or more books we read in the past month. We all get introduced to many books and authors we might never have met like Traveling With Giraffes by Linda Rutledge.” – Barbara Corwin.
“I was an only child. I discovered the magic of the printed word early, for my parents read to me before I could read on my own. I’ve been reading all my life since then. Books have been the gateway to a wonderful world of everything imaginable from fiction to non-fiction – fantasy, realism, nature, politics, new ideas, etc. One of my great blessings in old age is that I can still see to read!” – Claudia Christensen
