Heart to Heart Marks Five Years of Neighborly Connection

This July, Westminster Village proudly celebrates the fifth anniversary of its resident-led Heart to Heart (H2H) initiative – an inspiring reminder of what can happen when neighbors look out for one another.

Born during the uncertainty of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Heart to Heart was envisioned by residents Jane Cuendet and Joann Benzer, who worked with the Residents Council to form a task force focused on community connectivity. What began as a thoughtful response to social distancing has evolved into a vital part of daily life at Westminster Village, fostering connection, compassion, and camaraderie among neighbors.

At the core of Heart to Heart are 25 dedicated Neighborhood Leaders who serve as the heart of their areas. These volunteers act as a vital link, keeping communication flowing, organizing gatherings, and making sure no one in their neighborhood feels alone or overlooked. They are often the first to notice if a neighbor needs a little extra help, a cheerful greeting, or simply someone to talk to.

The true success of H2H lies not in its structure but in its spirit. It’s a testament to the power of residents looking out for residents – proof that genuine care and everyday kindness can build a stronger, more resilient community.

As we celebrate this milestone, we offer heartfelt thanks to every Heart to Heart Leader who continues to make Westminster Village a place where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued. Your presence and dedication are what make our community thrive.
